Mission Statement

Welcome to École John Stubbs Memorial

This beautiful school is located in Belmont Park adjacent to Royal Roads University forestland and just a ten-minute walk to Esquimalt Lagoon and beach. Our school’s student learning community has about 850 students with a catchment area covering all of the Westshore. We are a French Immersion school with students in kindergarten to grade eight. Our school building has two wings, one for the elementary school (kindergarten to grade 5) and one for the middle school (grades 6 to 8) with the office and learning commons in the middle. Our middle school also offers Grade 6 Late French Immersion, providing another entry point into the French Immersion Program.

École John Stubbs Memorial is a warm and welcoming school with dedicated and caring teachers and Educational Assistants who create a thriving learning environment for our students. We have a very active and friendly Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) that offers a hot lunch every Friday, popcorn on Tuesdays, family dances, movie nights and much more.

I am honored to be part of this exciting and thriving community of learners and appreciate the importance of the team-effort and the support of families as we work together to help our children flourish. Our school motto is ‘Ensemble on peut tout faire’ – ‘Together, we can achieve anything.’ This school is about all staff and families working together for the best academic and social emotional education for all our students.
