Wednesday February 24th is Pink Shirt Day.  Wear a pink shirt – any pink shirt – to show that you stand up for kindness towards others.

The date of the school dance is no longer tomorrow Feb 18th but instead has been changed to Thursday February 25th!  Please change your calendars and share this important information.

If you haven’t already done so, please take the time to read over the following health information provided by Public Health.  In particular, please read the sections on Preventing Influenza and How Influenza is Spread.

Please keep your child home if they are not well so that they can get better and do not get others sick.

Thank you for doing your part in keeping the John Stubbs Community healthy.

Parent FAQ – Online Registration (1)

Dear EJSMS parents,

The Sooke Parent Education Advisory Council (SPEAC) is hosting the Vancouver Island Parent Conference on Saturday February 27th, 2016. This is an excellent conference and we are fortunate to have such great opportunity here in our community.

Please visit www.vipc.ca for further information and registration details. Early Bird (by Feb. 10) registration is $80. After Feb. 10 it is $110. The fee includes lunch and refreshments.

EJSMS PAC and SPEAC are providing some funding to encourage parents to attend the conference. We are able to provide a limited number of $35 subsidies to parents. There will also be a draw for a complimentary ticket. If you are interested in going to the conference for a reduced rate of $45 or having your name entered in the draw, please email kjquealey@gmail.com by Friday, January 22, 2016. Winners of the complimentary ticket and details of the subsidies will be sent out by Monday, January 25th.

Thank you,

We have just received the parts for the GaGa Ball Game, and are really excited to get it up and running at our school. If you are not aware of Gaga Ball, you may wish to click on links attached below.

We are hoping that we can get some help in order to assemble the kit and get our students started with this exciting new playground activity.

Specifically, we are looking for donations of wood plus time from a couple of people to help put it together as soon as possible, hopefully this week.

Could you please email me ASAP if you are able to help in any way? Assembly sounds fairly simple. It is in the attached link.
