With this cold weather we are experiencing we just wanted to remind you to dress your children in warm clothing as they will be expected to go outside for recess and lunch.
If your child has been sick and is still not quite better it would be better to keep them at home until they are 100% ready to function at school.  If he/she is too sick to go outside he/she is also probably too sick to get through the day’s work successfully – give him/her another day to rest.

Through engagement with parents, staff, students and stakeholders, we will create a road map that will include milestones to help chart our progress and ensure we remain on track towards achieving these goals.

We know your time is valuable so we’ve created a short five-question survey. Share your opinions with us – all responses are strictly confidential and anonymous. The survey closes at 4 p.m. on Monday, December 5.

We are pleased to announce that École John Stubbs Memorial will once again participate in ‘Stuff the Bus’, supported by BC Transit. Santa Claus, his helping Elves and their big bus will visit John  Stubbs on December 5th to sing holiday songs with our students and collect food donations. All donations will go to the Westshore Food Bank, which supports families in our area. We are asking all those families that can manage it, to please donate generously. Each classroom will have a box in which to place non-perishable dry or tinned food.  Start sending in the donations right away – we have only two weeks!

NOTE: Each class needs a need a large box (open), wrapped festively, in which to place the food donations. Any parents that can supply their class with this, please contact the classroom teacher. Thank you!

wednesday-picture MUSIC WALL: We are excited about a new project we would like to undertake to add to our outdoor playground and learning spaces. Our idea is to have a music wall attached to one of our outdoor areas. We need your help. Please help us find some of the following items: metal pots, frying pans, muffin tins, cookie sheets, oven racks, large coffee tins, metal colanders, water bottles or anything else you can think of that could make music. (These items do not need to be new). If you are able to pierce a hole (or two or three) in the item so we could attach it with a zip strap to a fence, that would be even more helpful to us!

If you are interested in finding out more about outdoor music walls for ideas, you can find lots of images and information on the internet.

Thank you for supporting our endeavor! Please send in any music wall donations to the school office from now until the Christmas holiday.
