A HUGE shout out to the members of the TC10K team who raced bright and early on Sunday morning with over 7000 runners in Victoria. For most members of the team, this was their first 10K race which is no small feat. As a team, we finished in an average time of 54 minutes and 52 seconds. Bravo!
We are very proud to announce that the John Stubbs TC10K team was awarded the Team Spirit Award!!! Well done team! Great way to represent John Stubbs!
Thursday, April 14th will be an early dismissal day. Classes will end at 11:48 and buses will pick up at that time and run their usual Thursday routes. Teachers who did not do so in March will be conducting parent conferences/student-led conferences that afternoon, unless the teacher has made alternative arrangements with parents. If you have any questions regarding parent teacher interviews please contact your teacher directly.
Friday April 15th is a professional day – there will be no school.

The date of the school dance is no longer tomorrow Feb 18th but instead has been changed to Thursday February 25th! Please change your calendars and share this important information.

This Easter, the Ecole John Stubbs PAC will be fundraising with Purdy’s. Funds raised will be used to support technology advancements, field trips and the great things that happen for our kids at EJSMS.
The Purdy’s program gives 25% of the profit back to the school and the prices are the same as in the Purdy’s shops.

The Sooke Parent Education Advisory Council (SPEAC) is hosting the Vancouver Island Parent Conference on Saturday February 27th, 2016. This is an excellent conference and we are fortunate to have such great opportunity here in our community.
Please visit www.vipc.ca for further information and registration details. Early Bird (by Feb. 10) registration is $80. After Feb. 10 it is $110. The fee includes lunch and refreshments.
EJSMS PAC and SPEAC are providing some funding to encourage parents to attend the conference. We are able to provide a limited number of $35 subsidies to parents. There will also be a draw for a complimentary ticket. If you are interested in going to the conference for a reduced rate of $45 or having your name entered in the draw, please email firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday, January 22, 2016. Winners of the complimentary ticket and details of the subsidies will be sent out by Monday, January 25th.
