School News:

TERM 1 REPORT CARDS AND POINTS OF PROGRESS

For Elementary families some teachers will be sending home paper report cards by December 18th while other teachers have been providing families with points of progress throughout the term. If you are unsure on the delivery of your student’s progress reports please email your student’s teacher directly.

For Middle School Students some teachers will be reporting through your MyEducation BC Family Portal Account, these reports will be published on December 4th. Other teachers have provided points of progress throughout the term. If you are unsure on the delivery of your student’s progress reports please email your student’s teacher directly.

For those receiving report cards through MyEducation BC REMEMBER to print your student’s report card for your records as they will expire from your portal account.

REMOTE LEARNERS RETURNING TO IN CLASS

Remote learners who would like to return to in-class learning can do so on January 4, 2021. In order to have your child return to in-class learning we must have written confirmation sent to dlisrael@sd62.bc.ca by no later than Friday December 11, 2020.

LIFETOUCH STUDENT PHOTOS

There have been questions regarding Lifetouch photo orders and when you might receive them. If your student had their photos taken at the school, the photos will come to the school. If you paid online the turnaround is much faster to receive your photos.  If you paid by cash/cheques, then there is a much longer turnaround. It takes about 2-3 weeks from the day you ordered  and paid for your photos for them to be printed and delivered to the school.

If your student is a remote learner and had their pictures taken at the Lifetouch studio then the pictures will be prepared for pickup at the studio, in this instance Lifetouch will be in contact with you when they are ready.

If you would like to check on your order please feel free to call Lifetouch at 1-866-457-8212

JOHN STUBBS TOONIE DRIVE

Please send your student in with a loonie or a toonie between Monday December 7th and Friday December 11th for our École John Stubbs Foodbank Toonie Drive. All money collected will be donated to the Goldstream foodbank. This is an opportunity for the students to support their community and help those in need during this very hard year. Don’t have any change at home? No problem! We will also have a donation section on the hot lunch page where you can donate online. All money should be given to the teacher, who will then forward it to the office. Food for thought: if each student brings in $2, we can raise $1700 for the foodbank! Amazing!

DRESS FOR THE WEATHER

As we head into our wet and cold months please dress your student(s) appropriately for the weather. We always make it a priority to send the children outside in most weather conditions. ALL students need a waterproof coat, boots or a change of shoes. It is helpful for them to have a change of clothes in the classroom or in their backpack.

MASK REMINDER

Thank you to all families for supporting John Stubbs’ efforts in following COVID-19 protocols. By wearing masks, you are helping to keep our students, staff and families as safe as possible. If we as a community are to limit the spread of COVID-19, we all need to make sure we are doing our part by wearing masks and socially distancing while dropping-off and picking up your child(ren) before and after school. Thank you for helping us keep the John Stubbs Community safe by doing your part!

PICK UP REMINDER

Please note that some teachers are required to lead their class through the courtyard up to the field each day after school. We ask that you help them get there safely by social distancing and making plenty of space for the class to pass by.
