The Week Ahead….

Monday, June 25 – Elementary Beach Day @ Witty’s Lagoon (see below for details).

Tuesday, June 26 – Middle School Fun Day @ JDF lower fields (see below for details).

Wednesday, June 27 – Middle School Assembly 10:50am  PAC will provide food for a BBQ lunch for Middle School students, as well, PAC will be serving sundaes to Grade 5’s.

Thursday, June 28 – Last day of school.  Elementary School Assembly 10:50am.  Reminder that this is a full day of school, with dismissal at 2:50pm.

JUMP ROPE FOR HEART This year our school’s goal was to raise $700 and thanks to our amazing students and parents (grandparents, neighbors, etc.) the school raised $2861.25!!

ELEMENTARY BEACH DAY

A notice/consent form has gone home with your Elementary School child this week in regards to Elementary Beach Day on Monday, June 25th. Please take a moment to read over the information on the parent letter and then sign the permission form on the reverse. You only need to send back the permission section.

Itinerary:
9:00 a.m.             Leave John Stubbs
9:30 a.m.             Arrive at Witty’s Lagoon main parking lot on Metchosin Road
1:45 p.m.             Leave Witty’s Lagoon main parking lot on Metchosin Road
2:15 p.m.             Arrive back at John Stubbs

For the day, your son/daughter will need:

  • Appropriate walking shoes for the hike to the beach
  • Layered clothing to accommodate the changing weather
  • Backpack
  • Drink and a snack
  • Bagged lunch with extra drinks
  • Sunscreen – apply before coming to school
  • Hat
  • Shorts or bathing suit
  • Towel
  • Optional: beach games, beach toys (e.g. buckets, shovels)

MIDDLE SCHOOL FUN DAY

On Tuesday June 26, 2018 students in grades 6, 7 and 8 will walk down to Juan de Fuca for Fun Day. Students will engage in different grade group activities for the day, then return to school before the end of the day.

Where: Tuesday June 26, 2018.

When: Leave John Stubbs at 9:00 a.m. Arrive at Juan de Fuca at 9:20 a.m. Activities from 9:30-10:30.   Snack Break from 10:30-10:45. Activities from 10:45-11:45. Lunch in picnic shelter 11:45-12:45. Activities from 12:45-2:00. Leave JDF at 2:00. Return to John Stubbs for 2:30.

What: Lawn Bowling, Beach Volleyball, Kickball, Basketball, Forest Games. **The grade 7’s will be swimming from 12:30-2:00. The PAC will be providing a cold treat at lunch. J

What to Wear/Bring: water bottle, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, runners, active wear clothes, snack and lunch (if not purchasing one.) **Grade 7’s need to bring a bathing suit, goggles, towel, etc.

Transportation: Walking.

Cost: $9 if you would like to purchase a lunch for your child. **Must be paid in advance, cash only. – See below. Hot dog, juice, chips, and fruit.

$5 for organic smoothie, if desired (can be purchased on site).

The grade 7’s from Spencer Middle School will also be on site in different areas of Juan de Fuca. They will be in the pool at the same time as our grade 7’s.

Ages 7 – 12 $25 per drop-in NatureSketch drop in is an outdoor nature program for kids that focuses on sketching and observing wildlife habitats in unique ecosystems.
